Projections
If SciSIP is successful in its goals, it will provide measures of the outputs but not the outcomes of investments in science and technology. But after incorporating the knowledge gleaned from SciSIP-funded projects, based on the current portfolio and the goals stated in the program prospectus, we will still not have a real understanding of how to make policy for science funding, or how to use science for better policy decisions. The focus will remain on economic growth instead of examining the multi-faceted relationship between science and society.
